Princeton Engineering Services (PES) has been retained by the NJDPMC to provide design and construction administration services for a new bakery oven and fire protection upgrades at the Bayside State Prison.
The Bayside State Prison was constructed in 1969, and operates as a medium security facility. The developed portion of this facility encompasses approximately 30 acres of the 1,050 acre lot and includes twenty-one buildings that provide various services to the inmate population.
The Bakery Building #23 was originally constructed in 1968 as a combination bakery, clothing, and maintenance facility. The masonry one story structure totals approximately 36,060 square feet and has a loading dock with an overhead bay door for material deliveries and shipments.
The scope of work for this project includes removing and replacing the existing bakery oven, the extension of the existing sprinkler system as required, and removing and replacing the donut fryer fire suppression system.
