Bathroom Upgrades
Princeton Engineering Services (PES) is providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, as well as construction administration services for the upgrade of bathrooms at the Cypress Hills Collegiate Preparatory School.
Currently, the existing bathrooms do not have proper ventilation, have inefficient lighting and plumbing systems, and are not equipped with fire alarm devices. In addition, many faucets and floor drains are not operational.
A major issue for this project is that the existing electrical panels do not have enough spares to support the electrical needs of an upgrade project. PES’ solution to resolve this issue by installing a new electrical panel on each floor. The energy inefficiency is being addressed by installing LED lighting, occupancy sensors, electric hand dryers, and by insulating the plumbing pipes.
New fire alarm devices will be installed as necessary. Floor drains, plumbing fixtures, and faucets are also being replaced. In addition, hot water heaters are being installed to ensure a continuous supply of hot water to bathrooms and kitchens by code.
