Each of twenty-two (22) Core-Site Rooms were designed to link more than three hundred (300) School District of Philadelphia buildings via fiber-optic and wide area network distribution. The design was organized into four groups (or “Rings”), each of which having four to six schools per Ring. Core-Sites have dedicated access from the outside only, as well as dedicated split system cooling to maintain safe operating conditions within each room. Dedicated Fire Alarm Systems were provided for each Core-Site, which integrate with the school building’s existing Fire Alarm System. Dedicated Emergency Generators were also provided at each school to support/protect the Core-Site Rooms.
